Earthquake Update from Randy English
Wednesday, October 21, 2009
Early morning September 29th, an 8.3 magnitude earthquake struck in the area of our island. Then, about 14 minutes later, a huge tsunami wave struck the southern shores of the Samoan Islands. Within just a few short minutes, property and lives that had taken a lifetime to build and raise, were destroyed. This island nation is the place that we have called home, ever since being sent out from the World Mission Forum over 20 years ago. It’s hard for us to see the villages reduced to rubble, and still yet harder for the people here to accept their loved ones being killed. But there is one thing that is of special comfort that Sharon and I have learned…..God is really good at helping people through the really difficult times of life…..isn’t He? In fact, one might even say that these are the times when God does His finest work! So, there’s hope…there’s relief…there’s prayer. Thank you brothers and sisters for providing these things. The English Family
